Controversy looms over choice of pro-abortion rights Tutu to speak at Gonzaga University commencement

Officials at Gonzaga University have invited the controversial Archbishop Emeritus of Cape Town, South Africa Desmond Tutu to deliver the school’s 2012 commencement address in May. 

The school also will present the archbishop with an honorary doctorate.

Living Waters announces first 180 baby

Just got an email from Living Waters. They're the folks that put out the 180 video. "A young lady wrote to us last week and said that last year she was listening to Tony Miano preach the gospel open-air, when someone gave her a “180” DVD. She was secretly pregnant and was considering an abortion, but after watching it she decided to keep her baby. David is our first “180 baby.” We filmed Vanessa and should have it available soon."

Two planes dedicated for Mission Aviation Fellowship’s service in Indonesia

NAMPA, Idaho (WordNews.org) March 21, 2012  — Mission Aviation Fellowship dedicated two new Kodiak planes worth a total of $3.4 million for service in remote areas of Indonesia.
The planes were donated anonymously. “I know the excitement the sounod of these planes will generate in places with names like Kiwi, Bomela, Langda, and Koropun,” said Dave Rask, MAF’s director of Aviation Resources. “These are places that have never seen a car. Places so remote that the only way to reach them is a long trek through the jungle, or by plane. In these areas, the missionaries, the medicines, books, Bibles … even the nails for the buildings and the aluminum for the roofs are delivered by MAF.”

2 pro-lifers arrested outside high school

JACKSON, Miss. (WordNews.org) March 7, 2012 – Two college-age members of the Survivors Campus Life Tour were arrested yesterday for distributing literature to students on a sidewalk outside the Murrah High School here.

The arrests came a day after the group of pro-life youth activists attempted to hold signs, distribute literature, and engage high school students in conversation on the sidewalk.

Stonecroft CEO Vollrath retires

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (WordNews.org) March 6, 2012 – Geneva Vollrath is stepping down as president and CEO of Stonecroft Ministries at the end of April, the board announced today.
Vollrath will participate in the upcoming Call To Me prayer event April 24-28.
“Our commitment to the mission, to God Himself, is expressed and cultivated through prayer. There is no more important work for a Christian, no more valuable effort for a Christian organization, no more critical leadership, than prayer,” Vollrath said. She said she is looking forward to spending time with her family in Florida.
Stonecroft is now working to identify Vollrath’s replacement.
